Moving on…

In April 2014 and July 2016 I wrote about moving on from The Thatchers Arms, and from London Brewing Co and The Bull respectively. In both of those posts I didn’t know what was coming next.

This time I do…

I started with Borough Wines looking after our retail outlets and the beer buying. My background in the ontrade and my brewery experience lent itself to our Wine on Tap project and my role grew into Operations Director overseeing many different aspects of the business. In my time at Borough Wines we have significantly grown our wholesale operations, with a large proportion of that coming from Wine on Tap, the sales team have done a phenomenal job! We also built a brewery, a distillery, launched two pop-up kitchens, opened two new shops, grew our online business and ran so many events I couldn’t begin to list them all. I have learnt a vast amount about wine, spirits, retail, wholesale, logistics and international shipping plus so much more.

I have the utmost respect for Borough Wines owners Muriel and Corinna and the extended team. Muriel and Corinna are fantastic business people and have been an inspiration to work for. I am truly thankful for the incredible two years and the trust they have placed in me and the great team that I have had the pleasure of working with.

As my role has evolved the focus has moved away from beer and cider, and away from talking about our products, more towards logistics and wholesale operations. This has been an incredible journey and learning curve but beer is, and always has been, my passion and an opportunity for a new role bringing everything I have learned throughout my career together with everything I love was too good to pass up. I am excited to be working closely with producers and product again as I take on the role of Operations Manager and Buyer for beer importers and distributor Euroboozer. There is already an incredible line up of international brewers, the likes of Boon, Rogue, Ska, Mikkeller, O’Haras and Steigl to name a few plus a whole host of great British breweries including the likes of Roosters, Tiny Rebel, Thornbridge and Purity We’ll be developing the range and looking to build on our existing relationships and find many new ones. I can’t wait to get stuck in at the end of August!

So a huge thanks to Borough Wines and a big hello to Martyn and the team at EB HQ… It’s back to beer for me!
